The Colt Lightweight Commander combines Colt history with modern innovation. The aluminum alloy frame reduces carry weight without compromising strength. A Dual Spring Recoil System reduces felt recoil while extending recoil spring life. Custom G10 Grips and the Upswept Beavertail Grip Safety make for a capable carry gun that is equally comfortable on the range.

This is my first 9mm colt 1911 and a lightweight commander. It certainly carries easily. Fit and finish is excellent but I’m a realist and don’t expect nighthawk custom at colt pricing. I love my Colts and have owned so many 1911s in my life I’ve lost count, only one bad colt, an original series70 that looked as tho machine work was done with a rasp. Those were dark days for the rampant pony. These are great days, quality is apparent, reliability is a given. I’m thankful. To own and operate a 1911, one must be willing to learn the system. Simple enough but yet I read reviews about “constant FTE / F” difficult for any factory to know what ammo will be used. Full house custom? No problem hey what will you shoot? So be prepared to learn to tune both extractor and ejector. Not difficult and mandatory. Use good mags and proper ammo. Factory or reloads and keep clean and well lived. Simple. Still some it seems would rather complain than learn. Oh well they make blocks for those folks. Not to worry I love my g19, no hate from me. This here is 9mm commander is a fine handgun. Good sights, excellent trigger, perfect machining, perfect fit and finish, and reliable. And to top it off , the prancing pony on rear of slide. These are indeed great days to be a pistolero. I’m loving my first 9mm, I’m still a super guy for most things .355, but this LW 9mm checks slot of boxes Good job by BGS. We had a bit of a glitch and after figuring out live chat, problem solved quickly. Long live Colt, I know they aren’t the colt of old, and BGS.

Very Nice looking gun, feel great on the hand, can wait to take it to the range and break it in. Excellent service from BudsGunShop.com, definitely will do more business

This is my first 9mm 1911, and I know they can be a little more finicky than their 45 counterparts, but I’ve already experienced 7 FTE’s in the first 200 rounds, not what I was expecting. I don’t think I’ve had 7 total FTE’s in my 6 other 1911’s combined in their lifetime. Fit and finish on the Colt look good, now lets see if they come through with the extractor issue.

received commander in a timely manor from bud’s, exceeding my expectations. commander is just what I expect from Colt, fit and finish is excellent with out of the box performance. picked up from FFL and went straight to range, fired 200 rounds of 115 grain FMJ and HP ammo from several manufactures as well as reloads, function was perfect no FTF or FTE. the commander in 9mm is very easy to handle and recoil is very moderate, making follow up shots easy to keep on target. great gun from Colt and great service from bud’s, just what I expect.
