Smith & Wesson Classic Model 36 .38 Special is the gun I used when I was a police officer as my off duty gun in NYC. Back in the 70’s it was called the Chief and I loved the fact that I could conceal it with no printing at all. Small and beautifully blued just as I remember. I always used 158 grain cartridges. Although rated for +P they won’t be used in my firearm. It’s great just the way it is. Fires nice and smooth with little to no trigger break-in. Cylinder is tight and locks each round in place with no play at all. Steel construction with a 1.88 inch carbon steel barrel along with the beautiful checkered wood grips. I hesitated buying this gun until I realized it was NOT the California version with the mandatory CA locking system. Got a great deal on it at Bud’s and as always quick shipping to my FFL.
