Nice piece to add to the collection. Has the old Colt detective look.

I recently purchased a Heritage Roscoe 2” revolver to make a nearly-matched set with my mom’s old S&W Combat Masterpiece. In terms of style and cosmetics, the Roscoe makes a great match. Fit, finish and functional reliability are excellent. On the other hand, my K-frame Smith is a target pistol with a full custom trigger job. The little Taurus/Heritage trigger action was not even close! My wife tried it out and literally could NOT pull the trigger in double action mode. Also, the single action had a nasty catch that made the gun way less than confidence inspiring. So, I ordered a Wolff spring kit and brought the pistol to my local gunsmith. After much hand fitting of springs, and careful stoning of the sear, I have a revolver I can trust to work reliably, that I enjoy shooting, that my wife can use in a pinch, and that I feel confident I can use well under stress. Two things you need to know. 1) This is not a J-frame. The internals are very different and the double action pull is, apparently, designed for trigger cocking. If you pull the trigger slowly in DA, it WILL pause before firing. I don’t like this feature. I would rather not have it. But I believe a lot of you prefer that. For me, it’s there, I can use it as necessary, but if I roll the trigger through just a bit faster, I don’t feel the catch at all. Problem solved. 2) Also, the Roscoe does not fit plastic holsters designed for the J-frame. Either the frame or the trigger guard is too long. On the other hand, this revolver fit perfectly in a leather holster designed for the Ruger LCR. For what I spent in total, I could have purchased a plastic Bodyguard or an aluminum Airweight, but a Smith Model 36 Classic would have been the most appropriate pairing. The 36 Classic would have cost me a lot more money. So overall, I am very happy the Roscoe and with Bud’s. For me, the Roscoe makes a great base for project gun. Now, I need to order a match set of custom wooden grips! PS I deducted one star for the trigger-cocking double-action pull. I hope you found this review helpful.

Sweet little gun! Bluing is better in person than in photos. Slick, smooth action. More accurate than a gun this size has any right to be. Easy to carry, easy to shoot. Easy to like!

Awesome little revolver. Fit and finish are both very nice quality better than expected. Solid shooter and has that old school feel in the hand.

I picked up my Roscoe snub today. I will say this little revolver is right and tight. Timing good, forcing cone gap@ .003, yoke to frame alignment perfect, lock up exceptional. No cylinder end play. No excessive hammer trigger side play. Barrel straight no cant. Bluing near perfect. The cylinder chamber(s) to cylinder wall thickness is .030(measured from the outer wall of each cylinder chamber to the outside of the cylinder) this is VERY very thin! There will be NO+p going through this thing. Atleast not mine. I’m ok with Standard pressure .38 in a snub. The trigger/action was very dry almost crunchy from being stored (I’m assuming). It wanted to hang up a little in Sa. I lubed the revolver up with ballistol. Then ran compressed air through the action at the hammer(cocked), the main spring(grip off), hand slot in the breach face and the cylinder stop on the frame as well, to get rid of excess oil. I threw in some snap caps and worked the trigger. Moderately re-oiled it again and blew it out same as before. The trigger was now smooth and will break in well. Main springs a little stout, but it pulls right through. Very easy to stage in Da. Sa just fine. Very serviceable stock trigger. No more hang ups in Sa. Overall this snub is a great value. It’s got some old school manufacturing nuances reintroduced like the high gloss bluing. Although it’s small It’s got the heft of a carbon steel revolver. Very remnant of the S&W model 36 with the style, mim and internals of a Taurus 85. The sample I received is very well put together. The bluing is exceptional. No lock👍 According to Taurus it’s not a M85. The Roscoe is “A Roscoe”😂.

The pistol has a great finish! Only wish Taurus/HR would put serial numbers on before doing the nitride coating. Put lighter hammer spring in and now my wife can pull the trigger. Nice pistol.

5 stars all the way! Great fit and finish, shoots to point of aim. Lighter springs helped complete the package, Very nostalgic roscoe in a good way!
